As Shanghai is becoming an international city, tendencies have changed from selling chinese products towards selling products to chinese. With the highest rise of rich people in the world, all kind of foreign companies are trying to capture the chinese market. From luxury brands to western style products, companies are making a lot of effort & investment to seduce this new clientele. For time to time, I find myself hired by some of those companies to help them through this promotion process. Here, a Spanish Wine Company is organizing a wine tasting in an high end shanghai club (M1NT )

Recently opened, the Langham XinTianDi hotels is definitly giving a new vibe to the numerous high range hotels in Shanghai. With its retro-style and ideal location just on the border of the ultra-chic xintiandi district, the hotel is already fully booked most of the time. Since its construction, I was quite fascinated by this melange of genre and was really looking forward to work with KPF on this project and its now done ! My recent collaboration with respected architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox ( KPF ), helped me to build a stronger commercial architecture portfolio. Of course the process of shooting promotional photos for buildings and spaces is very different from the one of documenting a story but it is also an interesting way of discovering new sides of photography especially with the help of post processing. During my recent work, Abram Hodgens, has worked together with me to bring a certain result that is expected by those companies.

When my friend Jay asked me for help on the promotion package of her new venue, i was not sure what to expect. But a few minutes after, it became clear that that would be an easy one… The concept is simple, a pool bar where you can come alone and hire a beautiful girl to partner with you on a game… pool only !
But the time was really short on this so we had to shoot mostly digital and i had to bring one friend in ( Abram Hodgens ) to help me on the post production. We’ve shot nearly 2 hours in a bar around the pool and in the middle of the room with a dark background to get some kind of studio feeling. At the end of the day, when it comes to shoot good looking girls and the goal is to make them look sexy… there is not much to do … Its pretty easy work, a couple of lights and you just shoot. I have to say that half of the work was the beautiful post production done by Abram.
So some of those photos should start to pop up mainly in chinese mag, the venue is in tonglefang, on kangding lu, just after yuyao lu.
